Biography

Born on July 8, 1975 in Ankara, he is originally from Malatya. In 1994, he was awarded a scholarship to Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Department of Theater. In 1998, he graduated from this school as a high honor student. Her first professional play was 1998 Ariel Doffman's Kayıplar (Widows) at Ankara Sanat Theater under the direction of Rutkay Aziz. In the 1999 - 2000 season, she worked at Diyarbakır State Theater. In the same years, he gave stage and acting classes at Diyarbakır City Theaters and directed the play Barış Island at this institution. In 2002, he was appointed as an actor to Erzurum State Theater to complete his compulsory service. In 2005, he completed his master's degree on Reji at Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory and started teaching as a lecturer at Atatürk University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Theater. In 2008, he resigned from his position at the State Theaters and started to continue his work in Istanbul. Among the theaters he worked in Istanbul are Theater Dot and BKM. In the 2009-2010 season, she joined Istanbul City Theaters with the play "General Rehearsal of Suicide". The play "General Rehearsal of Suicide" was staged in Istanbul City Theater for 3 seasons as a sold-out production. Serhat Kılıç was nominated for the 14th Afife Theater Awards for the Most Successful Musical and Comedy Actor of the Year for his performance in this play in which he played four different characters. In 2012, he founded a production company called Cats&Dogs (Soho Istanbul). In 2014, he played the character of Imam Hamdi in the film Winter Sleep, directed by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. For his performance in this movie, he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor Performance at the 47th SİYAD Awards.

In November 2014, the actor founded the School Serhat Kılıç, which provides acting, writing, dance and singing training. In 2014, he opened Serhat Kılıç Okul, the theater workshop he founded.
