Biography

Born on January 1, 1960 in Istanbul, Hakan Karahan graduated from Robert College and went to the USA for his undergraduate studies. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Miami and graduated in 1983.

In 1984, Mr. Karahan started working at Du Pont de Nemours in Geneva, which was his first work experience. He then returned to Turkey and worked in various organizations within Sabancı Holding. Mr. Karahan, who served as Managing Director in his active business life until 2003, wrote nearly 70 articles and columns in various publications between 1990 and 2003.

Hakan Karahan wrote a book titled Aikido for Beginners and later published poetry books titled The Voice in My Head and Intisar. His first published novel was Separate from the Herd, which was released in 2001. Afterwards, the first two books of the Feramuz Güvenlik series, 19 and Azrail, were published.

Hakan Karahan worked as a scriptwriter and played the character of "Oğuz Bey",[5] who existed for 34 episodes, in the TV series Sağır Oda, which aired on Kanal D between 2006 and 2007. Hakan Karahan, who had previously had the intention to enter the film industry as a film producer and to transfer the works of Turkish writers to cinema, founded the production company "Narsist Film" in 2007 to realize the cinema adaptations of literary works.[6] As his first job, he bought the film rights of five literary works, including Gölgesizler and Kayıp Hayaller Kitabı (The Book of Lost Dreams) written by Hasan Ali Toptaş.[7][8

Having played professional volleyball for a long time, Hakan Karahan has been a black belt 3rd Dan aikido player since 1990. Hakan Karahan has been with singer Candan Erçetin for many years
