Early life and education
She was born on October 31, 1994 in Istanbul. She completed her high school education at Erenköy Girls' High School and then started to play volleyball for Galatasaray and later joined Fenerbahçe's youth team. Until the age of 18, the player, who was interested in volleyball, studied at Yeditepe University, Department of Public Relations.

Career life
Best model of Turkey
Sezgi Sena Akay competed in the 25th Best Model of Turkey competition on December 15, 2012 and won the title of Best Model of Turkey 2012. The event was held at the Galatasaray Islet (Suada) in Istanbul. Fashion designer Yıldırım Mayruk, one of the jury members of the competition, stated that Sezgi Sena Akay was "the most beautiful and fresh model of the last twenty-five years".

Best Model of the World
On December 10, 2012, she represented her country Turkey in the Best Model of the World 2012 competition and won the Best Model of the World 2012 award and the Belgian representative came first. This was the fourth time a Turkish woman won the Best Model of the World crown.

Acting career
In 2014, she joined the cast of the series "Zeytin Tepesi" on Kanal D and played the character of "Nevin", but the series was finalized due to low ratings.

In 2015, she entered the cast of the Show TV series called Bitter Love as the lead role. Bitter Love also ended its broadcast life as a result of low ratings.
