She danced in various works in the Contemporary Ballet Ensemble. After receiving her associate's degree, she switched to the theater department. She was one of the star students of Yıldız Kenter and Haldun Dormen at the Conservatory.
In 1996, she had her first movie experience with the film "Yaban". In the same year, she starred in the series "Black Angel". "Black Angel" was a big turning point for Sanem Çelik, Turkey recognized her with this series.

She won the 1996 Adana Golden Boll Supporting Actress Award and the Best Actress award given by the Magazine Journalists.
In 2000, she won the Best Actress award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for the movie "Elephants and Grass". With the same movie in 2001, she won the "Best Actress" award in 3 different competitions.
In 2003, she starred with Haluk Bilginer in "Hittites" written and directed by Tolga Örnek. When the calendars showed 2005, she appeared before her fans on Atv screens with the television series "Aliye". "Aliye", which had a rich cast including Nejat İşler, İlhan Şeşen and Halit Ergenç, attracted great attention from the viewers.

Before the end of 2005, he was back on the big screen with a movie: "The Dark Side of the Moon". Written by Metin Belgin and directed by Biket İlhan, the film starred Mehmet Ali Alabora and Ali Poyrazoğlu.
