He was born on February 26, 1992 in Kocaeli, the youngest of a family of 3 children. His grandmother is a Bulgarian immigrant. He moved to Istanbul with his mother and sister because his parents separated. Özdemir said in an interview about his relationship with his father: "We didn't see each other for years, but we recently reconciled. But I never thought he hated us or didn't love us. He's just very stubborn."
