Biography

On August 4, 1948, he was born in İznik, Bursa. After graduating from Bursa Boys' High School, he dropped out of the second year of Istanbul University Faculty of Law and entered the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory. He was a member of the casts of Kenter Theater and Dormen Theater. Güzin Özyağcılar and Haşmet Zeybek founded Gazete Theater with Ertuğ Koruyan. In 1966, he started acting in cinema with Atıf Yılmaz's film Death Field. He acted in films such as Kibar Feyzo (1978), Çöpçüler Kralı (1977), Yılanların Öcü (1985), TV series such as Bizimkiler (1989), Yabancı Damat (2004), Elveda Rumeli (2007) and various theater plays. Between 1989 and 1997, he played the character "Şükrü Başaran" in the legendary TV series Bizimkiler for eight years. He voluntarily left this role in 1997. In the 90s, apart from Bizimkiler, he also became very famous with the series Şehnaz Tango. In 1986, he received the Best Supporting Actor award at the 23rd Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. He retired from Istanbul City Theaters, which he joined in 1975. In 2010, he appeared in the TV series "The Karadag Family" with Güzin Özyağcılar, whom he married in 1972, and his daughter Zeynep Özyağcılar. In addition to theater, he acted in more than 50 movies and television series and did voice-overs in more than 60 films. He still continues to act.

In an interview, the actor revealed that he believes in the shaman religion and that he is a shaman.
